Curriculum in English

Most of the Department of Human Geography’s courses are in German. Some classes are offered in English as well (see overview below). However, also in courses taught in German, much of the reading is in English, and many of the courses allow presentations and examinations in English by arrangement.

At the postgraduate/M.A. level, there is also a cooperation with the M.A. programme „Science and Technology Studies“ which is taught in English: https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/63707506/Master-STS

An overview of courses offered each semester can be found in the “Vorlesungsverzeichnis” (course overview), on the QIS-Server of the University: http://tinygu.de/courseoverview

The German academic year is divided into the lecture period (mid-October to mid-February and mid-April to mid-July) and the lecture-free period, also called semester holidays (mid-February to mid-April and mid-July to mid-October).

Term Dates can be found here: https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/58757965/Kommende_Semester(only in German).

Examinations: Written exams usually take place in the last week of the lecture period. Depending on the lecturer’s requirements and agreements for the completion of each course, term papers are usually submitted one to two months after the end of the lecture period.
